Roots and Resilience: Indo-Grenadian Experiences

This section is an invitation to remember, to preserve, and to share the stories of a people whose history lives in memory, but not yet enough in record.

Across Grenada, within families and communities, there are histories that have never been written down. They exist in recollections, in fragments of conversations, in traditions quietly passed from one generation to the next. With time, these stories fade. The voices that carry them are growing fewer, and the details that once felt certain are becoming harder to recall.

It brings together the journeys, experiences, and contributions of people of Indian descent in Grenada, a community often referred to as Indo-Grenadians. It is not a complete record, but a beginning. Each story reflects a life shaped by migration, resilience, and adaptation, and together they form an essential part of Grenada’s national story.
